Anne Savage
Anne Savage is chief communications officer for Cancer Council Queensland, the state’s leading independent organisation in cancer control. She directs the organisation’s government relations and advocacy activity in Queensland, with a focus on influencing policy development in support of cancer control. Her executive management experience spans more than a decade in diverse industries within the public and private sectors.
Amanda Lee
Amanda Lee is Professor, School of Public Health and Social Work and School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences in the Faculty of Health at QUT. She chairs the National Health and Medical Research Council’s dietary guidelines review working committee, and until recently was director of nutrition and physical activity within Queensland Health. Amanda is on many national and international committees, including the expert committee on obesity for the Australian National Preventive Health Agency. She has over 30 years’ experience in population and Indigenous health.
Chris Walker
Chris Walker is communications manager at Growcom, the peak body for Queensland’s horticulture industry, and edits the monthly magazine Fruit & Vegetable News. She is a life member of the Rural Press Club of Queensland and has served the club over the years as treasurer, president and secretary. Prior to joining Growcom in 2006, Chris was director of a small public relations consultancy Write Action Communications working with agribusiness companies including Nufarm and Crop Care Australasia.
Dr Kay Pearse
Dr Kay Pearse is principal consultant for CBB Consulting offering specialist services in social research, strategic communications and stakeholder management. She is an experienced director who originally pursued a career in academia (genetics). Kay has senior management experience in the health and disability sectors in Queensland and Victoria. She is familiar with all aspects of Queensland Government health policy and operations from her time as chief of staff and senior policy advisor to the Honourable Stephen Robertson, Queensland Minister for Health (July 2005-July 2007).
Rada Rouse
Rada Rouse has been a specialist medical journalist for the past 16 years. Her current role is clinical news editor for the GP magazine and website Medical Observer. Rada has worked previously as medical correspondent for the national wire service AAP and as chief-of-staff for AAP’s Canberra press gallery bureau. Rada is vice-president of the Australasian Medical Writers Association (AMWA), and a member of the MEAA and the US Association of Health Care Journalists.
Genevieve Robey
Genevieve is the General Manager of Wotnews – the news search and aggregation website. Her background has seen her regularly involved in the relationship between technology and news. She has a Journalism Degree from QUT and completed an ABC Online Internship. She owns local news websites Carindale Connect and Bulimba Connect. Genevieve has worked on the development of a number of media and industry websites.
